My name is Dr. J. Scott Anderson, DDS. I have been practicing dentistry in Houston for many years. Willowbrook Dental Care is a full-service dental office located at 17350 State Highway 249, Ste. 200, in Houston, TX. In addition to providing comprehensive examinations and deep cleanings for clients in the Houston area, we perform all types of tooth restorations.

When a tooth has decay or has been damaged, a dental restoration is needed to ‘restore’ the tooth to its previous intact condition. A dental filling is one of the most common and well-known types of restorations. A dental filling is used to repair decayed or damaged tooth surfaces. Most people have a few fillings in their mouth.

If you have old silver amalgam fillings, we can replace them with nearly-invisible fillings tooth colored. These fillings are made out of a strong composite resin. Many of our Houston cosmetic dentistry patients have replaced their old silver fillings with fillings matched to their teeth. You can improve your smile instantly and relatively inexpensively by getting rid of the ‘metal’.

Houston Tooth Restoration: Dental Implants and Dental Bridges

When my Houston clients ask me about Houston tooth restoration, I usually tell them about fixed (or ‘traditional’) dental bridges or dental implants. A dental bridge is an artificial tooth which replaces a missing tooth. The false tooth (called a ‘pontic’) is fused to porcelain crowns on either side of the missing tooth.

Tooth replacement has been a highly requested procedure at my Houston cosmetic dental practice. Patients from the Houston area have expressed concern about tooth replacement for many years. Most of my questions in the Houston area have to do with the strength of the tooth replacement, and durability.

Dental implants are also popular concern for my Houston tooth replacement patients. A dental implant consists of a titanium post surgically inserted into the jaw bone to replace the root of the missing tooth. The post integrates with the bone to provide a stable foundation for the replacement tooth.

After it has bonded with the bone (it usually takes three to six months), a smaller post is attached. This post extends above the gum line. The artificial tooth (crown) is then attached. The entire process takes several months, but consistently yields terrific results for Houston tooth restoration patients. My Texas cosmetic dentistry patients appreciate the fact that I stay up to date on the latest advancements in tooth replacement procedures.

Both Texas smile restoration options preserve or restore facial contour and allow you to talk and eat normally.
