Houston low cost teeth whitening

The most difficult part of attaining perfection is finding something to do for an encore. -Author Unknown

We are perfectionists at Willowbrook Dental Care where we create perfect smiles for our Houston area cosmetic dental and smile makeover patients.

Here are some of the cosmetic dental procedures we use in smile makeovers at Willowbrook Dental Care in Houston.

Implant Dentistry
Dental implants are the ultimate tooth restoration available in Houston or anywhere else, for that matter. A tooth implant consists of a metal post that is inserted into your jawbone. The post replaces the root of the missing tooth.

After a few months, it meshes with your jawbone to provide the strength and integrity of a natural tooth. A base and natural-looking crown is permanently attached to the post. For most Houston patients with missing teeth, it is the preferred restoration. Implants can also be used to attach dentures and partial dentures for no-slip implant/denture combos.

Crowns
A mainstay of Houston cosmetic dentistry, dental crowns are more beautiful than ever. New fabrication technologies and materials have improved the aesthetics and strength of this restorative option.

Porcelain Veneers
A veneer is a more conservative treatment than a full crown. This is a good choice for Houston patients whose teeth are structurally sound but have unsightly flaws such as discoloration, chips, cracks, or imperfect shape. Are you one of the many Houston teens or adults with dark tetracycline stains? Call us today at (281) 571-3760 to say goodbye to tetracycline stains!

Inlays/Onlays
Inlays and onlays (indirect fillings) are designed and fabricated using dental CAD/CAM software. These fillings are strong, attractive, and precisely fitted to the cavity.

Tooth Whitening
Teeth bleaching is the crowning touch for a perfect smile. (It’s the only thing you need if you are a fortunate Houston man or woman with perfectly-shaped and aligned teeth.) No one has to live with dull or stained teeth. Call us today for a teeth whitening consultation at our Houston office.

Versatile Dental Veneers for a Vivid Smile

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Affordable Cosmetic Dentistry in Houston Have you ever wished you could quickly attach perfectly shaped, dazzling white front surfaces to your teeth? Guess what? You can! With porcelain veneers, you can eliminate smile imperfections in just one visit to your Spring, TX cosmetic dental office.

The porcelain veneer is one of the most versatile items in a Spring cosmetic dentist‘s toolbox. Veneers turn unattractive smiles into perfect smiles with minimal disruption to existing tooth structure. They are quicker and usually less expensive than complete dental crowns but are made with the same strong, translucent porcelain.

It’s no that wonder that a very large percentage of people in the public eye have porcelain veneers. A Texas actress can receive a perfect smile in the morning and appear on a talk show that evening. A supermodel can permanently remedy a discolored tooth and pose for photos right after leaving her Cypress dental office. A Houston television news anchorman can have his teeth perfectly aligned in a couple hours and report Texas news that same day.

I am Dr. J. Scott Anderson of Willowbrook Dental Care in Houston, Texas. I use veneers alone and in combination with crowns, inlays, onlays, and tooth implants for dramatic smile makeovers. Perhaps porcelain veneers are the best route to your perfect smile.

Let’s talk. My cosmetic dental office can be reached at (281) 571-3760

We are located at 17350 State Highway 249, Ste. 200, Houston, TX

Celebrity Smiles in Houston

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Veneers in Houston How do celebrities obtain brilliant white smiles always ready for the red carpet or a close-up? Do they avoid coffee? Not likely. Every star-watching magazine is full of pictures of famous people holding Starbucks cups. Do they avoid tobacco? Some probably do, but many actors and fashion models with dazzling white smiles are smokers.

Very few people (famous and non-famous alike) with perfect teeth were born with them. (…Sure, no one is born with teeth, but you know what I mean.) Celebrities have perfect smiles because they have undergone cosmetic dentistry.

Guess what? You can also have a smile like a supermodel or television news anchor because Dr. J. Scott Anderson at Willowbrook Dental Care has as much experience and training in advanced cosmetic dentistry as any Hollywood cosmetic dentist.

Dr. Anderson has been providing smile makeovers for Houston dental clients for years. Tooth whitening is the most affordable cosmetic dentistry procedure in Houston. Tooth bleaching quickly perks up your teeth and makes you feel like smiling all the time!

Porcelain veneers are used often in cosmetic dental offices because they correct myriad problems. Veneers remedy misshapen teeth, cracks and chips, and discolored teeth. Teeth that have been worn down extensively can also be repaired with veneers. Preparing a tooth for a porcelain veneer is minimally invasive. The latest veneers do not require the removal of healthy enamel. Another plus: veneers are usually less expensive than complete dental crowns!

Tooth bleaching and veneers are just two of the many cosmetic dental procedures performed at Willowbrook Dental Care. Schedule a Houston cosmetic dental consultation today by calling (281) 571-3760. At our office, you will always receive VIP treatment, without the annoying paparazzi!

We look forward to helping you achieve a celebrity smile.

(Note that the celebrities pictured above are not affiliated with our site; they just have great smiles!)

Houston Dental Emergencies

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Houston Dental Emergencies Many people will experience at least one tooth emergency in their life. You could break a tooth playing a sport, accidentally dislodge a crown, experience sudden pain caused by an abscess or break a wire on your braces. In the case of a dental emergency, see your Houston dentist as soon as possible!

Following are some immediate treatments:
Broken Tooth: Save any tooth fragments. Rinse mouth with warm water. If the area is bleeding, apply a piece of gauze. A cold compress held on the cheek can reduce swelling and lessen pain. Visit your Houston dentist as soon as you can.

Lost Filling: Save the filling if you can. It can help your dentist determine why it came out. Do not let food get stuck in the hole left by the filling. Do not chew on the tooth. Brush it gently. Call your Houston dentist’s office to schedule an emergency appointment right away.

Displaced Crowns: If there is pain, you may apply a dab of clove oil with a Q-tip to the affected tooth (a common home remedy that may reduce pain). Save the crown. If you can’t see your Houston dentist immediately, you can apply dental cement (available at drugstores) or denture adhesive to temporarily re-attach the crown until you can get to your Houston dentist. Do not use other types of glue or adhesive.

By visiting your Houston dentist as soon as possible, you avoid pain, infection and possible further tooth damage. If you delay treatment, even for a few days, you risk needing more extensive treatment later.

For dental emergencies in and around Houston, call Dr. J. Scott Anderson at Willowbrook Dental Care. Our phone number is (281) 571-3760

Achieving Health and Beauty with Modern Dentistry

The Dangers of Oral Piercing

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

The Dangers of Oral Piercing If you live in the Houston area and are considering puncturing your lip or tongue, read this:

Infection
Your mouth is full of bacteria. Any opening in the tissue carries the risk of infection. The germs from your tongue and mouth can easily get into your bloodstream. Houston dentists and doctors are continually treating serious infections caused by oral piercings. Oral infections can be a real problem, and should be a major consideration before getting an oral piercing.

Tooth Damage
It should come as no surprise that having a piece of metal bang around in your mouth can easily chip tooth enamel. Though tooth enamel is amazingly strong, once it’s chipped or cracked, it can only be restored with artificial material. Fortunately, Willowbrook Dental Care in Houston offers many tooth restoration options such as crowns and fillings, but our advice is to avoid the problem if you can.

Prolonged Bleeding and Swelling
The blood vessels in the tongue are often damaged when the tongue is pierced, causing prolonged bleeding and possible build-up of scar tissue. In some cases, the tongue swells up enough to block the airway.

Gum Recession
A number of periodontal disease studies have shown that wearing oral jewelry is linked to periodontal disease which can result in tooth loss. Periodontal disease, or ‘gum disease’, can cause gum recession and exposes the root of your teeth, potentially causing hyper sensitivity and pain. Again, our advice is to avoid the problem right from the start.

These are just a few of the dangers. Dr. J. Scott Anderson at Willowbrook Dental Care can give you more information about the risks of oral piercings. If you already have damage, call (281) 571-3760 to schedule a consultation.
